Change your relationship with alcohol or drugs, on your terms.
Maybe you’ve promised yourself this time would be different, but the stress, the cravings, or the urge to escape always pull you back in. Or maybe you’re not sure if you even “qualify” as having a problem, but you’ve noticed your relationship with alcohol or drugs is taking more than it’s giving.
You might notice:
It’s harder to control how much you use—even when you set limits.
Your tolerance has grown, and you need more to feel the same effect.
You find yourself drinking or using more often than you intended—on weeknights, alone, or to take the edge off stress.
Relationships feel strained because you’re more irritable, withdrawn, or keeping parts of your life hidden.
Your health is taking a hit—worse sleep, low energy, hangovers, anxiety, irritability, or feeling foggy
You’re questioning if life might feel better without it
Whether you’re looking to stop completely, take a break, or get more intentional about your choices, you don’t have to figure it out alone. You deserve support that meets you where you are, without judgment, shame, or pressure.
I’m here for you.
Your Recovery, Your Goals, Your Pace
Therapy can help you go from feeling controlled by alcohol or drugs to feeling empowered to decide what works for you. Whether that’s stopping, cutting back, or making more intentional choices.
Imagine if…
Your days felt steadier and more predictable—no more planning life around drinking or using.
You wake up clear-headed and energized, ready to focus on the things that matter to you
Your relationships felt stronger because you’re more present, honest, and engaged.
You had healthier ways to cope with stress, boredom, or tough emotions, without turning to alcohol or drugs.
Your confidence grew as you followed through on the promises you made to yourself.
You had more time and energy for the hobbies, goals, and experiences that make life feel full.
This isn’t just about removing something from your life. It’s about creating space for something better. Together, we’ll figure out what “better” looks like for you and build the tools and support you need to get there.
Areas of Expertise in Substance Use & Addiction Therapy
Substance use can look different for everyone, which is why I tailor therapy to your specific situation, goals, and recovery path. Whether you’re seeking full sobriety, questioning if you want to make a change, or working toward harm reduction, I offer judgment-free support to help you create lasting change.
I often work with clients who are navigating:
Alcohol use—including sober curiosity, harm reduction, and long-term recovery
Misuse of prescription medications, such as painkillers, sedatives, or stimulants
Illicit drug use, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioids
Cannabis use that’s affecting focus, motivation, or relationships
Nicotine or vaping use that’s impacting health, mood, or daily routines
Co-occurring mental health conditions like anxiety, depression, or trauma
Relationship challenges stemming from substance use, including trust issues, conflict, or communication breakdowns
Relapse prevention after treatment, detox, or a period of sobriety
High-stress professions (military, first responders, healthcare workers, therapists) with unique substance use challenges
How We’ll Get You There
I combine approaches like Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and Harm Reduction to support your goals—whether that’s full sobriety, cutting back, or changing your relationship with substances.
Together, we’ll work to:
Clarify what you want for your life and create a plan that works for you
Identify what’s fueling your substance use and address it at the root
Build coping strategies that work for your lifestyle and stressors
Strengthen your confidence and follow-through so that change lasts
Heal the parts of your story that keep pulling you back toward old patterns
Create a support system inside and outside of therapy that helps you stay on track
This isn’t about judgment or rigid rules. It’s about finding the right path for you—one that feels realistic, compassionate, and worth sticking with.
You’re allowed to outgrow the version of yourself that had to numb to make it through the day.

Questions?
FAQs
-
No. I work with clients pursuing full sobriety, those wanting to cut back, and those who are just starting to think about making a change. We’ll focus on your goals, not someone else’s definition of recovery.
-
If your drinking or drug use is affecting your health, relationships, work, or self-esteem, or if you’ve been questioning whether it’s becoming a problem, therapy can help.
-
That’s more common than you think. Change often takes a few tries, and it’s not a sign of failure; it’s part of the process. We’ll look at what hasn’t worked before, identify what’s driving the behavior, and find strategies that fit your life.
-
Yes. Research shows online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for substance use. Virtual sessions make it easier to get consistent support while staying in a space where you feel comfortable.
-
Yes. Many of my clients are in high-pressure roles and face unique challenges around alcohol and drug use, including stigma and workplace culture. I understand those pressures and create a space where you can be honest without judgment. Your privacy is of the utmost importance.
-
Your privacy is protected by law, and what we discuss in therapy is confidential with very few exceptions (such as safety concerns or a court order). I do not report substance use to law enforcement, your employer, or licensing boards unless you give written permission or I am legally required to share information. Many clients worry about being judged or “getting in trouble” for being honest about their use. Therapy is a safe, judgment-free space where you can talk openly without fear of legal consequences.

AA and other 12-step programs can be a great source of peer support and community, but they’re not the same as therapy. In therapy, we work one-on-one (or in couples sessions) to understand what’s driving your substance use, build coping skills, and address any underlying mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, or trauma. You don’t have to choose one or the other. Many people use therapy and 12-step programs together for extra support. And if 12-step isn’t the right fit for you, we can explore other recovery and support options.
